Trinitui's Game Log | Guestbook

My log of games played since early 2025.

I've wanted to have a place to log games I've played for the past several years. While I've used spreadsheets in the past, they are very impersonal. This will be a place where I can write about what I've played.

I also like the idea of making a webpage entirely in HTML, and focusing on what I want to communicate.

You can see my professional wesite here if you want to see projects that I've worked on and places that I've worked.

Games currently playing:

>> Citizen Sleeper 2

Sequel to Citizen Sleeper, a very different style of game but it's a lot more tense and while the first game can be a slow burn, this one has a much stronger hook. I love the visual style and language of this series and this game in particular - the new environments you go to help to flesh out the world.

Building out your crew and going on contracts is an excellent way to follow up the first game. I like not being on the Eye and inhabiting a new sleeper (or could it be the same one???).

>> System Shock (2023 Remake)

This is a wild experience - very faithful to the original, and very atmospheric. You can feel the jank that made games like Bioshock so polished and frictionless - it was all experimented on here. Definitely a recommendation from me!

>> Cyber Knights Flashpoint

Looks like this one is still heavily in early access - going to shelve it until it's ready for the big times.

>> Shapez2

I'm always on the lookout for Factorio 2, but sadly this isn't it. It's a great first game in the genre, but it doesn't have the edge that Factorio has.

Gameblog rating:

>> Brotato

Fun action rougelike - not sure if I'll put more time into it beyond a couple more hours, but it's fun and does the genre conventions well.

Gameblog rating:

>> Caves of Qud

The world of Qud is weird and full of endless possibility. Character creation is deep and fun - you can play in more traditional styles (knight, gunslinger) or in more cyberpunk-like ways (mental, electrical focused characters).

Qud is a post-cyberpunk landscape, covered with chrome ruins and rusty swamps. Contrasted against the simplistic graphics, the evocative style of the world is really cool.

>> Dawnfolk

A small game that is charming and comfy, but I probably won't put too much time into

Games finished / DNF:

>> Citizen Sleeper | 2.4.25 | 10

Fantastic cyberpunk RPG that takes place on a space habitat. While the game runs on a simple system - a series of d6 rolls - how you use those rolls throughout each cycle introduces a ton of complexity. There's also some fantastic writing and deep characters, including the space station you are on.

I finished the game with the Gardener ending, which I thought was the best ending for the sleeper. They finally transcended the limitations of their frame and presumably could continue helping the citiens of the Eye from the cloud.

At some point I would like to come back to it, but for now I'd like to spend time on Citizen Sleeper 2 and other games and let this experience resonate for a bit before jumping back in.

Finished: 2/4/25

>> Star Wars Outlaws | 1.25.25 | DNF

This game is in some ways a return to the PS2 level of mid-tier game, in in that vein I really enjoy it. It gives off Jak 2 vibes sometimes, which I recognize is a strange thing to say, but it's also very charming.

Unfortunately, it's a huge game in all the wrong ways, which really harms the pacing and overall experience. If they cut some planets this would be a much better experience, but I still really enjoy this one.

Gonna try to finish it up soon, but we'll see...

>> OpenTTD | 2.1.25 | ?

It is wild that so many games are literally just this game with minor tweaks and/or better graphics. It would be cool to explore all / most of them and how they relate to this game.

This also runs really well on Linux! One goal I have for the future is to move my gaming pc from windows to linux, probably around the time I get a new gaming box.

This game, like so many others, has no real end, so I gave it a '?' tag to signify that I'll dip into it for the rest of my life.
